広大なシアタースペースBox1000を舞台に、世界最高峰のオーディオビジュアル作品をショーケースするプログラム「A/Visions 2」。

ポーランドを代表するピアニスト／作曲家Hania Raniが、Prophetシンセサイザーへの愛を注ぎ込んだオルターエゴ・プロジェクトChilling Bambinoで登場。ダークな色彩を帯びたエレクトロニカと催眠的なリズムを軸に、内部を露出させたアップライトピアノの生音を織り交ぜながら、自らを解き放つようなサウンドを展開する。

結成20周年を迎える日本のインストゥルメンタルバンドmouse on the keysは、2024年発表の4thアルバム『midnight』で探求したアンビエントとテクノ・ミニマリズムの世界観を、映像と空間へと拡張。MUTEK.JP 2026のための特別なオーディオビジュアル・パフォーマンスを披露する。ヴァイオリニストの常田俊太郎とVJのrokapenisを迎えた特別編成で、反復と揺らぎ、身体とデジタルが交錯する没入体験をつくり上げる。

世界的に活躍する日本人オーディオビジュアル・アーティストRyoichi Kurokawaは、最新作『-nD』を上演。2面のスクリーンと、極限まで精密に同期された音と映像によって、抽象と具体、意味と無意味、分離と一体化の間を行き来する知覚そのものを立ち上げ、没入型のオーディオビジュアル体験を創出する。

2日目の「Play」は、時間、知覚、空間をめぐる多様な表現が交差するオーディオビジュアル・ライブプログラム。

イタリアのマルチメディア・アーティストRiccardo Giovinettoが、新作『HUMĪ』を披露。固定された境界を越えて混ざり合い、絶えず変化する「想像上の地理」を、生成的な映像と音響によって描き出す没入型AVパフォーマンスを展開する。

アルゼンチン出身、スペインを拠点に活動するNicolás Melmannは、エレクトロアコースティックな音響と抽象的な光、有機的な映像を融合したAVパフォーマンス『Música Aperta』を上演。現代社会の加速する時間の流れに抗うように、静寂と瞑想へと誘う空間を描き出す。

フィンランド出身、コペンハーゲンを拠点に活動する音楽家Johanna Elina Sulkunenと映像作家Tapani Toivanenによるデュオは、人間の声とライブエレクトロニクス、自然界のデジタル・アフターイメージを融合した幻想的なAVパフォーマンス『SONORITY』を披露する。

そして、フランスのCanblasterとNeurotypiqueによるコラボレーションプロジェクトNEUROSCANが日本初上陸。IRCAMでの研究を通じて開発された本プロジェクトでは、モジュラーシンセサイザーを駆使したUKガラージからIDMへと広がるサウンドと、リアルタイム生成映像が融合するAVパフォーマンスを展開する。

Set within the expansive theater space of Box1000, “A/Visions 2” showcases world-class audiovisual performances at the forefront of sound, image, and technology.

Leading Polish pianist and composer Hania Rani appears as Chilling Bambino, her alter ego project born from a deep fascination with the Prophet synthesizer. Driven by dark-hued electronica and hypnotic rhythms, the performance weaves in the raw acoustic sound of an upright piano with its inner workings exposed, unfolding into a liberated and deeply expressive sonic experience.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary, Japanese instrumental band mouse on the keys expands the world of ambient music and techno-minimalism explored on their 2024 fourth album midnight into image and space. Created especially for MUTEK.JP 2026, this audiovisual performance features violinist Shuntaro Tsuneta and VJ rokapenis, creating an immersive experience where repetition and fluctuation, the physical and the digital, intersect.

Internationally acclaimed Japanese audiovisual artist Ryoichi Kurokawa presents his latest work, -nD. Using two screens with sound and image synchronized with extreme precision, the work creates an immersive audiovisual experience that moves between abstraction and concreteness, meaning and meaninglessness, separation and integration—shaping perception itself in the process.

The second day of “Play” brings together a diverse range of audiovisual live performances exploring time, perception, and space.

Italian multimedia artist Riccardo Giovinetto presents his new work HUMĪ, an immersive AV performance that uses generative visuals and sound to depict an “imaginary geography”—a constantly shifting landscape where fixed boundaries dissolve, merge, and transform.

Argentine-born, Spain-based artist Nicolás Melmann presents Música Aperta, an AV performance combining electroacoustic sound with abstract light and organic imagery. In contrast to the accelerating pace of contemporary life, the work creates a contemplative space that invites audiences into stillness and meditation.

Finnish-born, Copenhagen-based musician Johanna Elina Sulkunen and visual artist Tapani Toivanen present SONORITY, an atmospheric AV performance combining the human voice and live electronics with digital afterimages of the natural world.

Making its Japan premiere, NEUROSCAN, the collaborative project of France’s Canblaster and Neurotypique, presents an AV performance developed through research at IRCAM. Modular synthesizers drive a sonic landscape ranging from UK garage to IDM, merging with real-time generative visuals to create a constantly evolving audiovisual experience.
